How to make Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies in less than 30 minutes. That’s right, you can make your favorite sweet snack or dessert in no time.
Guys, It’s Sunday Funday, so let’s make it … a Cookie day. Yaay!!
Me and my cravings, right?
But what can I do? I am an ex-pastry chef, currently food stylist, I’ve got a cooking addiction, and I am a chocoholic.
So there is absolutely no way for me to stay away from cookies.
Plus, I love their smell filling up in my house. It always reminds me of Christmas.
And I would do Christmas anytime, any day.
But here’s the thing with most delicious desserts. The best ones are usually time-consuming and difficult to make. Which is what I totally hate.
So every day I spend countless hours to find or create recipes that are so simple even a kid could make them.
This week, I happened to find Martha Stewart’s Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe. It’s been a while since I made my last chewy chocolate chip cookies, but from the moment I saw that recipe I could literally smell the cozy scent that fills my house when I make them.
I knew I can’t possibly go wrong with any of Martha Stewart’s cookie recipes and it looked really simple which is what I always aim for. That said, it probably took me less than a second to decide if I should give it a shot.
But then, a big question popped out.
Should I make crispy or chewy chocolate chip cookies?
Hmm… Tough call. People are usually split when it comes to oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Some like them crispy, others like them chewy.
By the way, which side are you on? Are you a crispy, or a chewy?
I find myself caught in the middle because I honestly like them both. However, since hubby doesn’t like anything crispy, I had to go with my heart and make chewy chocolate chip cookies.
Sorry, crispies. Next time it will be all about you. I promise 🙂
But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Keep reading as I will tell you a very simple trick about how to make the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies more crispy, to your own taste.
Of course, I couldn’t help myself from changing of few of Martha’s ingredients and quantities.
As you probably know by now, I like to either create my own recipes or tweak others.
I simply can’t stay within the exact instructions of a single recipe. But then again, cooking is an art and I guess everybody likes to make adjustments consistent with their own taste and vision.
If you ask Jamie Oliver and Martha Stewart to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, I am sure you will get two very delicious but very different cookies. That’s because they are both great chefs, but different people with different taste and vision.
So I like bringing my own touch to all the recipes I make and I think you too should be as creative as possible in the kitchen. You don’t need to change a recipe entirely. Just make some simple tweaks which might lead to a delicious dish with a whole new taste.
And since we all have different tastes, what I think is the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookies doesn’t mean they are the same for everyone.
Maybe you like them sweeter so you need to add more sugar. Or maybe you like them more chocolatey, Â I don’t know… you get the point.
But enough with the excuses for my lack of discipline 🙂 .
Let me tell you how I like these chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
I usually have them for dessert, after a crazy delish lasagna or after a healthy chicken salad.
More Crazy Delish Desserts:
- Raspberry Chocolate Brownies
- Chocolate Cake with Fresh Berries
- Apple Tart with Toffee Sauce
But I also love them with my morning tea, milk or cocoa. They are great for snacking because the oats make them very nourishing and the chocolate … oh well, chocolate makes everything delicious.
More delicious Oatmeal Snacks:
I found that I like crispy chocolate chip cookies with black tea, but I like the chewy ones with milk. How do you like them?
You can make a large batch and keep them in the fridge for up to 5 days. But it’s worth noting that nothing compares to eating warm oatmeal chocolate chip cookies right after you bake them. Especially when you have them with warm milk or cocoa.
As I said before, I know that there are a lot of people who prefer crispy chocolate chip cookies. For those of you, I have a simple trick which you can use to make your perfect cookies.
Just follow the recipe below, but increase the baking time with 2-3 minutes.
Simple, right? I told you I’ve got you covered.
I am sure that by now you can literally feel the smell and taste of chocolate chip cookies. They give me the drools just by looking at the photos.
